He entered the US Army as an Infantryman Private on October 1, 1942. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, World War II Lapel Service Button and World War II Victory Medal
He died on November 19, 1944.
The Military records do not show precisely where he died except to say that he died in the Mediterranean Area. Probably, he was killed or mortally wounded about November 19, 1944, was taken to the 8th Evac and his dog tag was cut off with his clothing and buried. He in turn was buried as an unknown soldier somewhere in a military cemetery in the area of Italy closest to Pietramala.
